They gathered all the ministers at the conference to talk about the Kingdom’s future, but this time, in front of Princess Dahlia. Prime Minister Zafiro walks into the center aisle holding the King’s medical report from the royal doctor. “With all due respect, Your Majesty. We are all aware of your health, and aside from being concerned about you, we are also worrying about the Kingdom’s future. And like what we have discussed before, the only way to secure the realm is to marry our Princess Dahlia to the most worthy suitor that we have presented to you.” Zafiro urged while the King gripped his hand on the hand rest of his throne. Because whether or not he wants it, he can’t hide the actual status of his health anymore. While on the other hand, the Princess is already enraged and wants to burst out. “I agree with the Prime Minister.” Another minister stepped up and favored the Prime Minister. “And we have to do it as early as possible so the Princess would be ready in time.” another one urged.  Queen Olive cannot stand the scene of how they keep on pursuing her daughter for the marriage even after her poor princess has spoken her refusal. She stood up in front of everyone, wearing her fierce yet gentle expression. "Dahlia is smart and courageous. Why don't you give her a chance to prove herself that she can lead the kingdom on her own and wait for the time when she's ready to get married?" She tried to implore.  "Pardon me, Your highness. But the Princess is still young and naïve about ruling the kingdom. She was never in a battle ever since, nor joined in any political convention. All she busied herself with was making friends with the servants and spent her time mostly in the garden. How could you expect us to believe that she can give us protection? Not only the palace but the entire Kingdom of Haru." Zafiro insisted. “Ministers, I understand your conceptions, and I know you don’t have faith in my daughter. But I hope you could give her more time to think over what is about to happen while scrutinizing the eligible suitors. The King’s words shocked Queen Olive. “Your Majesty!” she cried with widened eyes and a deep, whispering voice. She can’t believe that her husband sounds to agree with the minister’s demand for their daughter. “Your Majesty!” she cried with widened eyes and a deep, whispering voice. I will call for another forum after I talk to the Princess.”  The Princess has broken her patience and stood up as well from her seat.  “Then test me,” she bravely interrupted. "There will be no more discussion about this matter. I don’t want to get married to any of those you have recruited. Let’s finish this now and here.” She courageously said while Zafiro smirked secretly. Princess Dahlia turned to the Prime minister. “I may spend my entire day in the garden. However, never forget that I am the daughter of the King, the father of Haru. Politics and battles are not strange territories for me. I can fight like a man, and I am as brave as a knight." She added. “Princess,” Queen Olive tries to resist her daughter, but the latter only ignores her and continues. "So tell me, how could I prove myself to you all and so you can all provide your support to my reign?" She added. Even though deep inside, her heart was pounding hard and worried if she failed to reach their expectations. Everyone gossips in front of the royal family, and not so long after, the prime minister again steps forward. “What about ending the fear of people towards the monster that roams every night around the realm?”  “Prime Minister Zafiro! How dare you summon my daughter into a hazardous task!?” the mother queen hissed and turned to her husband, who did not react. “My King, don’t let them do this to our daughter. I beg you, please!” but before the King could answer, Dahlia spoke up as she stood up firmly. “I, Princess Dahlia Reese of the Haru Kingdom, accept your challenge and promise to bring peaceful nights in our lands.” She swore. “I will kill the Vampire King and make him pay for his crime. I will bring his head in front of you all." The Princess added. The Princess left the chamber while Baron was waiting for her outside for the entire time. The man chased her behind when she just walked past the soldier. “How’s the meeting, My Princess? Have you convinced the ministers?” He inquired, and suddenly, the princess halted and asked. “Baron, have you ever fought with a vampire?” She inquired without turning to face the man. “I have. But why do you ask?” She turned and looked up at him while Baron noticed how she crumpled her gown with her hands.  “I think I was just too eager to get out of the situation and now made a terrible decision.” Princess Dahlia told Baron with a forced smile. “What terrible decision do you mean?” “I have to kill the Vampire King.” The Princess let out, and that made Baron shocked.
