CHAPTER TEN

Mrs. Rose was shocked and rushed out of her room to see what was happening. "What's going on here?" she asked, seeing Eniola and Elliot embracing. Lillian shouted, "Eniola has bewitched your son, ma! She's not a good person." Mrs. Rose looked at Eniola and Elliot, then back at Lillian. "That's enough, Lillian," she said firmly. "I know Eniola, and she's a good person. She would never do anything to harm my son." Elliot stepped forward, holding Eniola's hand. "Mother, I love Eniola, and I want to be with her." Mrs. Rose looked surprised but tried to remain calm. "Elliot, I understand that you have feelings for Eniola, but we need to talk about this. Eniola is our maid, and there are social differences between you two." Eniola spoke up, "Ma, I understand your concerns, but I love Elliot too, and I promise to take good care of him." Mrs. Rose sighed and looked at her son and Eniola. "I need time to think about this. In the meantime, Eniola, please continue with your duties as usual." Eniola nodded and curtsied. "Yes, ma." As Eniola walked away, Lillian glared at her with anger and jealousy in her eyes. She couldn't believe that Eniola had won Elliot's heart. Lillian's heart burned with resentment, and she vowed to find a way to destroy Eniola's happiness. She began to plot her revenge, her mind racing with evil thoughts.
