There was no way I could sleep with Selene locked away in the basement. I didn't disagree with locking her up, I just wished that I was with her. The guys may not understand her, but I recognized the pain in her eyes, the slight trembling in her hands when she talked about her dad. She lashed out for the same reasons that I did. She was terrified and angry and the only outlet for that much pain was to inflict that same pain on others. I felt for her, and I just wanted to hold her in my arms again and tell her that I understood. I would always understand. The guys may not see it but she was one of us, broken. She belonged here, with us. I wasn't a f*ucking i***t though. I knew she was lying when she explained why she sought us out. But that didn't change the true hatred I saw in her
