The Insecure Writer’s Support Group was founded by science fiction author Alex J. Cavanaugh in September, 2011. Its purpose - to encourage, support, and inform. The website is a database resource for writers and authors, with weekly guests and tips, thousands of links, and a monthly newsletter. There is also a monthly bloghop the first Wednesday of every month, a f*******: group, @TheIWSG on Twitter, and an annual Twitter pitch party - #IWSGPit.
