I walk into the HQ lobby, greet the security guards, and l hang around to chat with the receptionist for at least five minutes.
Everyone knows that the reception desk is where all the gossip congregates.
The best time to acquire private gossip is early in the morning. If you can’t find time, then lunchtime is also a viable option.
As I chat with the well-mannered receptionist, I watch other employees out of the corner of my eye. The lobby is bustling with all sorts of activity.
Employees check in while greeting other employees. Members of the security team move around, on the lookout for any sort of suspicious behavior.
The energetic atmosphere calms me a bit.
