Panic shallowed my breathing, and my hands clenched into fists when I realized Iris was gone from her cell. Every muscle in my body tensed as sweat broke out on my forehead. I stood there, staring at the empty room. I checked the bathroom, throwing things aside in a fit of rage.
She was truly gone.
How could the guards be so careless as to let her slip away unnoticed?
Fred and Natalia came running towards me with worry written all over their faces.
"Who did this? Who let her escape?" I yelled at the top of my lungs. “Did you do this, Natalia?”
Her eyes bulged, followed by rapid blinking. “How can I do that without your guards informing you? I care about her more than you think.”
