CHAPTER 63

798 Words

"Maya, what the hell are you doing sitting outside without a jacket while it's like fifteen degrees?" The sound of Ethan's voice surprised me. I licked my dry lips, pushing out a worried breath as he came closer to me. I didn't even know if what I was feeling was fear or excitement, or maybe even both. I was trying to keep my breathing under control, but I could tell that I was terribly failing. He sits next to me and stares hard at me, and I wonder what's going through his head. Was it hatred since I interrupted him? Ethan runs his hands over his face, and I'm already regretting the decision of letting him sit next to me badly. "She's pretty," I said. "Yeah, she is." Ouch. So that means he has really moved on to someone else. "I thought you were into brunettes."
