“Darren?”
“Darren?” Maddie mumbled. Wait, hold on a second.
The old man looked even more scared when he heard her say his name.
“Maddie, tell him to come inside the house.” Kevin’s flat tone asked her without turned towards her.
He was still in front of her, staring at the old man, that he called Darren.
Maddie nodded her head.
“Sir, we need to talk. Please come inside.” She told him. But the man didn’t say any word. The ground looked really interesting to him.
“Told him, it’s me that asked him in.” Kevin said.
“Kevin told you to come in.” She repeated him.
His eyes widened at her and then back to the ground but he nodded several time.
As if that was her cue, Maddie stepped forward and opened the gate. She waited for the old man to come in and close the gate.
