HAYDEN'S POV
"Your highness." One of the guards says cautiously. "There is something off about her. Her hair is a slightly different shade of black and her eyes are not the same shade of black as of princencess Isabelle we remember."
"Yes, your highness. She is not who she says she is. She is fooling us." His companion voices out.
I can't agree more with them, the lady's features are questionable. And her two servants looked uneasy. But if she isn't princess Isabelle, why does her flawless face seem familiar? Like someone I have met before.
She isn't dressed in the fanciest if dresses I am accustomed to seeing princess's wear. She has on a simple dress and no jewelry, yet her natural features look strikingly beautiful.
She sounds more brilliant and quite zealous than any princess I have met. It's not just her face that is remarkable, her unusual character is as well.
I'll have to figure out who she really is later. Right now I have an obligation to welcome every other guest including my future mate, princess Charlotte.
She is the heiress to the second wealthiest kingdom in the west, the black wolves throne, and if the words of the guardian elders are anything to go by she will soon phase into a unique being like me with wings of an angel and not crawls. The guardian elders of silvermoon foretold of our great Union and the people can't wait for their beautiful heiress to phase.
"I would prefer if we avoid any confrontations while we have princess Charlotte around." I say to the guards before turning and walking back to where my mother the queen stands talking sweetly to Charlotte.
"You are even more beautiful than we have heard. It's an honour to have you here and to soon have you as a member of this family." My mother says to the princess her face beaming with pride.
The princess is certainly beautiful, with long, flowing hair and sparkling green eyes.
"Welcome to my kingdom," I say bowing slightly in front of her. "I hope your journey was a pleasant one, my lady."
The princess barely acknowledges my greeting, her eyes still fixed on my face. "Your highness . . . I must say I had heard that you were goodlooking, but I wasn't prepared to see a face so bewitching. Your eyes are mesmerizing. I can hardly take my eyes off you." She flirts.
I smile politely, but I can't help but feel a twinge of annoyance. I had hoped she would love me for more than just my looks.
"Thank you for your kind words. But I believe there is more to me than just my looks." I say.
"Off course." She smiles sweetly. "But to be honest your looks are what caught my attention first your highness."
I have heard bad rumors about her, that she is selfish and vain, but I know better than to judge her based on rumours or our first encounter. She is probably trying to impress me and thinks that complimenting my appearance is the way to go.
"I see that you two are already in love with each other." My mother says smiling widely.
The princess smiles and nods delightfully.
"Shall I show you around?" I gesture toward the entrance offering her the crook of my arm.
She nods eagerly, still gazing at my face with a dreamy expression. As we make our way into past the grand entry, her five servants follow behind still holding onto the tail of her dress.
"Is that a royal dinning room?" She questions, her eyes widening as she takes in the opulence of one of the well furnished rooms.
"It's a ballroom." I answer gesturing towards the grand space filled with crystal chandeliers.
"It's so beautiful." She breathes taking a few steps towards the room's entrance. "I can't wait to dance here with you."
"Glad to hear you like it." I say as I can tell that her reaction is not feigned. She has grown in a palace surrounded by wealthy possessions but she has a beautiful heart that appreciates everything. As we continue up the stairs, her eyes dart around the rooms taking in the things on display.
CHARLOTTE'S POV
As the prince leads me through the ornate halls of the palace, I can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the sheer beauty of it all. Everywhere I look, there are sparkling jewels, shimmering silks, and glittering gold. The walls are adorned and the floors are made of the finest marble.
But what truly takes my breath away is the prince himself. He is a true epitome of charm and beauty. I have never seen a man so gorgeous before.
I feel so lucky that I am that girl the moon goddess chose to be his future mate.
I can't help but feel a sense of envy as I gaze around the room. The place is twice as large as my father's small palace. How good would it feel to be surrounded by such beauty and luxury every day? To wear the finest clothes and jewels... it is a dream come true considering I'll phase into an Angel like prince Hayden soon and I'll be his mate.
When we reach the royal rooms the prince stops and turns to me with a dazzling smile. "And here is your room, My lady. You will need to rest before the royal dinner tonight."
I smile back, "Thank you, your highness. Your home is truly magnificent," I say, my eyes lingering on his handsome face.
He nods and smile while placing a kiss at the back of my hand. "I'll see you at the royal dinner." He says before walking away.
I walk into the beautifully furnished guest room, my heart still racing. I can't help but feel a flutter in my stomach whenever I am around him. I have to make sure that I look my best at
the royal dinner tonight.
"Maids, please bring me my luggage," I call out as stroll farther into the room.
The maids nod obediently and scurry out of the room to bring the luggage. I had recently purchased a stunning new dress that I am sure will impress the handsome prince, and I can't wait to show it off tonight.
After a few minutes the maids come back carrying the luggage and set all the bags down on the floor by the bed. I eagerly sit on the bed and begin to search through the bags myself, but after a few moments, my expression changes from excitement to anger. I have unpacked all the stuff and clothes from the bags but the dress I am looking for is nowhere to be seen.
I storm into the other room where my maids have gathered, my eyes blazing with anger.
"Where is my new dress?" I demand, my voice rising with frustration.
The maids look at each other in confusion, looking unsure of what to say.
"We're sorry, Your Highness," One of them says tentatively. "We must have forgotten to pack it."
What?! "How could you forget the most important item in my luggage?" I snap. "You know how much this dinner means to me. I specifically asked you to make sure that it was packed!"
The maids cower before me, their eyes downcast. "We're sorry, Your Highness," another speaks up. "We thought it was in the bags, but it must have been left behind."
I scoff at their excuses. "Do you have any idea how important tonight is?" I cry out. "I'm supposed to meet prince Hayden's family and impress them with my beauty and elegance. And now I have nothing to wear!"
One of the stupid maids ventures to suggest an alternative. "Perhaps we can find another dress for you, your Highness," She says. "We can make it work."
I glace at her pathetic face. "I don't want just any dress you i***t!" I hiss. "I want my beautiful, expensive dress that I spent hours picking out. And now, because of your incompetence, I have nothing to wear."
They all bows their heads in shame, feeling the weight of their stupid minds.
"I'll have you fired, you know that this is unacceptable," I rash out my voice rising. "If the five of you can't handle a simple task like bringing my dress, then what good are you to me? I demand that you find a way to fix this immediately."
They bow their heads, looking ashamed. "We're sorry, Your Highness," They repeat but I don't care.
"Find it," I order. "I don't care what you have to do, but you need to find that dress. And if you can't, then you'll suffer the consequences."
They all scurry out of the room like brainless sheep, leaving me fuming in anger. I cant believe five maids would be so careless and incompetent. All my plans for the evening have been ruined, and I am left with nothing to wear that would impress the prince and the people of his kingdom.
