Kol Narrates:
I was reading one of my favorite books until my sister asks a question that surprises me.
Kol have you thought of a reason why mom still doesn't want to tell us what happened with dad? -She asked me-
-To tell the truth, I was quite surprised by this question since Khonnie never intrigued her during all this time about what happened with dad, she just continued to believe what mom told her about dad until this moment where I realized that she does want to know What do I think or at least I think so.-
The truth is that yes, I've thought about it a lot but no "theory" satisfies me enough to believe it -I answered her question after a few seconds of thinking what to answer-
Could you tell me some of your theories? I would like to know what they consist of so I can help you.
-Wow, the truth is that my sister had never been interested in any of my theories about dad since she said they were too absurd and that she should only believe mom because if she was our mother she would never lie to us-
Look, there is a theory that came to my mind and it is one of those that I think is hard to believe that it happened but I still maintain it, it is that mom may have been an accomplice in dad's murder -I told her-
Kol but that's stupid! Why do you think she had something to do with dad's death? You know how much she loved him...
-She is still a mommy's girl, my sister always defends mom even though you always make mistakes and not all those mistakes are enough to contradict them, she continues to believe the stupid nonsense that mom told us when we were little, I don't know how she believes those stories about what Dad actually died trying to save us from something Mom never said was-
I know! I know it's stupid to believe that, but don't you think that if Mom hadn't been an accomplice in her death, she'd tell us everything that happened? -I replied trying to make her see reason-
You're partly right but I can't think like that, what if she doesn't tell us because maybe it was all too macabre? Or because she maybe it still hurts to remember? she-she answered me she still with doubt about what I try to convince her-
Khonnie, 11 years have passed since her death and do you still believe that she sees us as little children so as not to know what really happened?
Yes, the truth is that I still think so.
But she understands we're not kids anymore, we're almost 16. Don't you think it's time for mom to tell us everything?
But put yourself in her shoes, she thinks it may have been so macabre that she still feels she should keep it a secret, it may be for our safety.
-Sometimes I feel that Khonnie knows the truth but since mom found out she swore to her that she would not tell me or she just continues to feel like a little girl who has no right to know the truth-
Well, if she doesn't tell us soon, rest assured that I'll investigate until I get answers and thus finally end this "mystery" -I said to leave the house and go to the police station which has the files of what happened with dad or that's what I read in a folder that mom had in one of her drawers-
Khonnie knows that when I get something into my head it's impossible for them to change my mind, such as in this case if I say that I'll investigate even the smallest thing, that's how it will be -I said to myself as I headed towards the place. mentioned-
-----------------minutes later---------------
Good afternoon, how can I help you? -the policeman who was sitting at his assigned desk spoke-
Hello, good -I answered half nervous-
Ummm, I need the case file 614 please.
What? Who are you and why do you need that file? This is completely confidential, we cannot give you the file just like that.
Umm yes what you heard, I need the 614 case file, my name is Kol Jones and I know it's not easy to get those files but I need them to examine them, I'm the son of the person in that file and I need it.
And how do I know that you are the son of the person in that file? How can I verify it? You're of age?
Amm, yes, here is my birth certificate which says who my parents are, my date of birth, full name and everything you need is in that folder -I spoke to give her a red folder which had lots of documents-
You are not of legal age from what I see here - the policeman spoke while examining the papers - Do you at least have the permission of one of your parents or guardians to be able to review that file? -he spoke seriously-
The truth... the truth is that no, I don't have anyone's authorization to review the file, but I need to review it, please let me see it, it's very urgent -I said trying to convince him-
Ok, let me go see if they let me check it for you -the policeman spoke and then got up from his seat and went through a door that said "workers only"-
Thanks! I yelled at him before he closed the door.
Several minutes passed and I was still waiting for the policeman so he could tell me if I could let him see the file.
Minutes and minutes passed and I still didn't know why the policeman took so long to reappear, until another policeman came running from outside the police station...
RUN, RUN, WE HAVE A UPHM CODE!! -said a policeman while he ran towards the same door where the policeman who wanted to help me had passed-
I was totally surprised with everything, what was a UPHM code? Why did all the policemen run towards that door? And why was an ambulance heard near the police station? -I asked myself these among other questions with great curiosity-
I decided to leave the police station because I knew that I would no longer get the file after all this. I was walking towards the exit of the place and I was paralyzed for a few seconds that felt like eternal minutes...
I just saw the most macabre scene that left me totally disgusted, terrified and paralyzed. I just saw the same policeman who wanted to help me dead, but in such a macabre way that I can't even describe it... The scene was so disgusting that the only thing I could manage to do was leave the place with a tremendous desire to want to vomit.
I was on my way home and I couldn't get that image out of my head, it was impossible I tried to do what I could to make it go away but it was impossible it always went away and then came back worse than the previous time. I felt that this image was haunting me inside and I knew that it would bring me something bad...
I finally got home and I could hear that my sister was in her room listening to music, which I did not give much importance to, since I knew that she would be studying or dancing, it was already something common every day. I was walking to the kitchen in search of something to eat since, honestly, I had spent enough time at the police station that I had forgotten to come back for lunch, so yes, I hadn't eaten anything since morning and the truth was that I was starving. I looked for something in the kitchen furniture, something that caught my attention to eat but I couldn't find anything until I decided to go check the refrigerator and boom! Happiness, I found a chocolate ice cream, maybe it's Khonnie's or mom's but it doesn't matter if you share, so I decided to take it and grab a spoon from the bathroom cabinet, I turned on the television looking for something fun to watch, I flipped channels and still nothing so I decided to put planet+ (an app to watch movies of all kinds), maybe I would find an animated movie that caught my attention, I searched and searched until I found one called "Rayo the special puppy", he called me bustantly the attention for the title and because it was a puppy and I love animals.
Several minutes passed and I watched the movie attentively since it was quite entertaining until I heard a noise in the house, at first I didn't pay attention to it because I thought it had been my imagination.
I heard another noise even louder and decided that it was no longer part of my imagination, I didn't want to go check because I was afraid to think that it could have been a thief or something like that, but decided I went to see what it was.
I went through many corridors and there was nothing, I was going back to the living room until I heard another noise again and I saw that it came from a room in the house, I began to continue walking through the corridors until I stopped at a door in particular, totally worn, I decided to open it, I could see that there were very unusual things in a room, it was small but it had many things that a person commonly uses in a house, such as a kitchen, a toilet, a sink to wash hands, a table, chairs and a wardrobe. I decided to close the door out of fear but I ran in the direction of the living room of the house and I could see that the door to the street was open and the only thing I managed to do was close it securely and go tell my sister what she had just done. watch...
I ran to her room, which made the path quite short because of the speed at which I was running.
Kol, what happened to you? -She asked me- It seems that something had happened and you were very scared.
Khonnie, you're not going to believe me... -I replied, still shaken from running so much-
But now, tell me, can't you see that you leave me intrigued to know what's going on? she -she told me upset-
What happens is that I discovered something in one of the rooms in the mansion and I needed to come and tell you immediately.
What? How did you discover something here?
Yes Khonnie, what you heard I found something that will surprise you a lot and I need us to analyze it together.
Ok, I'll walk you but guide me to the room, please.
Yes of course, let's go, only with 1 rule.
Ruler? What kind of rule? -she asked with some doubt-
That all the way do not ask me what I saw, or how it was or how I found it, please
Ok, don't worry I won't ask, let's just go now, I'm still quite intrigued.
We started running through the corridors and I could see how my sister was getting more and more surprised by all the rooms that were in this house, honestly mom had never let us check anything in the house, she said that there was nothing important in them so we were forbidden to enter them, the truth is when I ran through the corridors looking for the cause of the noise it never crossed my mind that mom could find out that I went to see the rooms and maybe there would be problems, although to be honest I have never been very abiding by the rules but when it comes to mom I always try to respect them.
Here it is -I said -and I broke the silence that was present since we left my sister's room-
Wow, ok, open it -She told me with shock and desperation because of the intrigue that filled her body from head to toe-
Okay, are you ready? -I asked him to make sure and be able to open the door once and for all-
If we wait to be ready, we will wait for the rest of our lives -She told me-
The truth is that she used that phrase from one of our favorite books and I found it quite cute on her part, I love when she makes references or she says phrases from the books that we like.
And I opened it, it was quite a small room to tell the truth, barely the sun showed through the skylight that was in the ceiling.
Ok and what is that so important that you should show me? -she asked me curious-
Khonnie, don't you see what this room contains?
And she began to examine the room better and I realized that it was quite peculiar, it was as if someone had lived there at some point ...
