“Lylah?” The voice was insistent. I closed my eyes, pretending I imagined the voice. There was no way Kaelin would be here, no f*****g way. He wouldn't know I wasn't at home unless he had his men…. Wait, did he? “What the f**k, man?!” Sounds of flesh meeting flesh and the snapping of bones caused me to peek my eyes open. I widened them in horror, a shriek leaving my lips as Kaelin pounced on Dan. I had to snap out of my shock when I realised he would bloody kill him if I didn't step in. We were far from the entrance of the club, not out back, but the light out here kept flickering on and off like a horror movie. I didn't notice it when I was packed out here, but now I do, and it wasn't funny. The light and the strangled sounds Dan made didn't make it any easier. And let's not forget
