“Are you really moving, Ian? Listen to me… I said I’m sorry.” Ian watched his mother try her hardest to stop him as he grabbed his packed boxes and set out of the house.
He was forced to stop after Eloise kept dragging on his knitted sweater.
“Well, I have to go…before you end up plunging a silver dagger in my chest while I’m asleep,” Ian said as he slowly grabbed her hand and freed himself from her firm grip.
“You know I’ll never do that,” Eloise said in a tone that felt the same as her saying ‘that’s totally absurd’.
“No mother feeds their kid wolfsbane, Mom. How can I be sure you won’t kill me? Besides, I’m not sure how much longer I can hold Storm back from losing control around you.” He paused and with a pained voice, he said, “Avery has never looked at me like that before.”
