And then she heard about Eloise’s death, right after Ian pulled her close and hugged her, his pain unfathomable—not when he was scarily quiet. But worse than that, Avery couldn’t help but think Arden was involved, and Ian knows it too. “I clearly warned him.” She heard Ian mumble under his breath.
