THIRD PERSON POV Deep in Draluke’s mansion, everything feels too quiet and tense. Rain taps gently against the tall windows. The fire in the corner burns high in a bit to warm Octavia's body. On the wide bed, Octavia lies motionless, her skin pale, her lips losing their color. Dr. Sara finishes the examination. Her fingers are cold as she presses them to Octavia’s neck one last time. Then she slowly turns to Draluke and Nadia. Her face is heavy with sorrow. “I’m sorry,” she says quietly. “She’s gone.” Nadia stares at her like she didn’t hear right.
