Chapter 5

The issue with the stocks had been resolved. It seemed that there were more orders than we anticipated. We had to make additional clothes to filled the numbers. It was already 3am when I got home. Thankfully, it was Saturday the next day so I had now worries about clocking in the next day. I was so tired that I felt like I was gonna collapsed after shutting the door. I forced myself to take a shower to at least ease some of the fatigue I was feeling. Around 12pm the next day, I woke up to the sound of my stomach grumbling. I tried to ignore it because I didn’t wanna get up. The doorbell rung and I opened my eyes and squinted. Who would come to my condo at this time? I pushed myself to get up and opened my door. A food takeout was shove to my face. It smelled good but I still didn’t know who it was so I shove the food away from my face to look at the face. My mood instantly eased up, I was going to curse if it was someone I hardly know. “You look awful, girl.” Blair said as she shoved me aside the door and walked inside. She took off her blazer, folded it, and put it on the armchair of the sofa. I went to her and hugged her from the back. “I missed you. When did you return?” I asked her and looked at her face. She went to another city recently and she was gone for weeks. She had a book signing event there. “I just arrived yesterday afternoon. I also called the other girls over. Go and wash up we’ll eat once they get here.” I listened to her and washed up. I took out a simple dress from my closet and applied some skin products so it doesn’t seem to be so dry. When I got out of my room again, the takeout food was already set up on the coffee table and Blair was skimming through the TV. She was picking some movies. She stopped at a romance movie and played it. I read the title and didn’t recognize it. It must be a new film. I don’t know much about films and rarely watched them. I asked Blair how the event went. She told me it was fun and she got to communicate with her fans and she liked hearing their reactions about the book she wrote. She released a romance-fantasy book last year and it seemed to be going well. The doorbell rung again. We looked at the door and I decided to open it since it was my place. I was greeted by a hug and a kissed on the cheek by C followed by Dada. I invited them in then we sat down at the living room and ate the food Blair brought. Since the holidays just recently concluded, we exchange stories regarding it and discuss our future plans. We even considered going on a vacation together. We met when we were high school and was inseparable ever since. During college, we attended different colleges but still kept in touch. These days, it was hard to see each other faces so it was nice to catch up with them. The girls left at night and I was left all alone. Blair was called by her editor and wants to talk about her next event, probably a signing event in a different city. C had to go back to her cafe and make some cakes for pick-ups the next day. And, Dada had an emergency meeting in her company. Alone in my condo, I decided to just checked my emails. While scrolling through the emails, I noticed a sketchpad nearby. I was hit by an inspiration and reached out for the sketchpad. I drew carelessly and just let my hand drew. I drew for a while and when I looked at it I noticed that it was a suit. I grabbed my head at the realization of what I drew and the first person I thought of after seeing it. I stared at it for a while and couldn’t help but think it would really look good at Sebastian. It didn’t make sense for me. I kept arguing to myself about the sketch. ‘I just happen to drew a suit and thought it would look good for Sebastian.’ ‘No, you have a crush on him thats why he’s the one you first thought of. It could be for his father, you know.’ To avoid feeling guilty, I decided to drew some sketches for the others as well. I got to drew a few of them but I wasn’t really satisfied. The pages of the sketchpad slowly got filled with Xs. My gaze drew back to my first sketch of the suit and sighed. ‘I must be really tired.’ I thought to myself and decided to stop sketching. I made my way to my room and decided to sleep off the night. The next morning I woke up to the sun peaking through my windows. I glance at the clock on my wall and saw that it was already 8am. I got up and sat sit still for a while. To make the most of my weekend, I decided to go to my parent’s house. I got there and my mom was at her garden tending to her flowers. The smell wafted through my nose. I didn’t know much about flowers so I didn’t know which flowers my mother was repotting. I tried to shocked by silently going to her back and screaming. The result, I was smacked on my arm because of it. After repotting her flower, we went inside and had some brunch. I didn’t stayed long there and just had a quick catch up with her. When I got back home, I notice the sketch again. I sighed and sat down at my desk. I held the sketchpad and started sketching again. This time, I seriously tried making sketches again for the others.
