At Monday, I went to the office and looked for Cynthia. I told her to give a call to Sebastian to schedule an appointment to discuss the design for his suit. Since he was the celebrant, I planned to finish his clothes first.
I went on with my day and also started designing for Selena’s dress. I didn't get to finish the sketch the day before. I kept feeling that there was something missing. It didn’t feel like how I sketch Sebastian’s suit.
The theme for the birthday would be timeless elegance. I planned to use gold fabric for Selena’s and her mom’s dress then black for the men. By noon, I was able to draft the designs. It would only need a few polishes before I passed them to the fabrics team.
Cynthia came to my office to inform me that Sebastian was currently out of town for a conference but would come to the office right away as soon as he returns. At my mind, I was thinking that he didn’t have to come right away but it would be nice to have a tentative date.
Another day passed by and someone suddenly knocked on my door. I looked up and I saw Lucas smiling while holding a bouquet of flowers. I stared at him with a straight face.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, slightly irritated that he showed up unannounced.
He walked towards my desk and handed the flowers but I didn’t reach out to received it. When he realized I had no intention of receiving it, he just put it on top of my desk and let out a cough with a fist in front of his mouth.
“I’ve been thinking that the last time we saw each other, things did not end up well. I’m here to make it up to you and persuade you to give ‘us’ another chance.”
I laughed at what he said. Persuade? Me? What else to persuade? Did he not understand a word I said that night? I leaned back at my chair and tilted my head while keeping eye contact with him.
“I don’t want anything to do with you anymore. If there is nothing else, please leave.” After saying that, I directed my gaze towards my laptop. He didn’t left right away and kept talking about how good it would be if we were to get back together again. He seemed very passionate about ‘persuading’ me.
I sighed and looked at him again. I was about to say something when someone knocked on my door and it opened to reveal Sebastian. When he saw who was inside, his eyebrows frowned.
“Lucas?”
“Sebastian?”
They called each others name simultaneously and this time my brows furrowed. Do they know each other?
I looked at Sebastian and he was looking at me. I coughed and avoided his gaze.
“How do you know each other?” I asked and alternately looked at them.
“We worked together on a project. Its nice to see you here Seb.” Lucas answered my question.
“Nice to see you too.” Sebastian nodded his head towards Lucas and walked nearer to us. “Where’s the design?”
“What design?” Lucas asked.
“For my birthday.” My gaze was fixed on Sebastian. He looked a little different from the last time I saw him. I was tongue-tied for a bit. I hurriedly looked for my sketchpad and gave it to him.
“I made a rough sketch for your suit let me know if you want to add or remove anything.” I couldn’t make eye contact to him so I speak while looking at my laptop.
“Do I look square to you?” He asked.
I was shocked by his question so I looked at him. “Now, you’re looking.” He said as he moved his gaze from me to the sketchpad. Lucas’ brows furrowed, seeming confused by our interaction.
“Did I miss anything?” Lucas who couldn’t held his curiosity finally asked.
I looked at him with a straight face, “Why are you still here?” Raising my brows, I motioned the door to him by tilting my head. He clapped his hands and laughed.
“Is this why you don’t want us anymore? Because of Sebastian?”
Sebastian’s brow raised and he looked at Lucas confused.
“Leave. You’re just embarrassing yourself.” I said and grabbed my head. Talking to him was giving me a headache.
Lucas finally left the office but doing so while laughing and shaking his head as if in disbelief.
“Don’t mind him. Do you like the design?”
He nodded his head and placed the sketchpad on my desk. He put his two arms on my desk. He leaned towards me from across it and tilted his head. He stayed still like that for a while. Feeling uncomfortable, I started rumbling words towards him.
“Wh-what? Why are you staring at me like that?” I raised my hands to try and cover up my face. My cheeks were starting to heat up. He chuckled and walked to the sofa.
“The suit looks nice. You can proceed with it. I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to come here yesterday.”
“There’s no need to apologize. You made time today anyways.”
Our gazes met and he smiled. He sighed and stood up again. “I want to stay longer but unfortunately, I can’t do that. I still have a meeting.” He walked towards the door and saluted to me with two fingers while smiling.
“See you again soon.” He winked at me after saying that and I gasped. He looked hot when he winked. His attitude completely change compared to our first encounter. What’s with this flirty Sebastian? And why am I liking it?
I sighed and leaned on my chair. My thoughts were getting complicated. My feelings were getting complicated. I massaged my throbbing forehead. I’m starting to overthink things. Maybe it was something I already knew but was just in denial.
