“Are you serious?” I blurted, staring at the document I held in my hand.
It was a contract but not a legal contract in the heavy, corporate official style.Though, with Julian, I shouldn’t have been surprised. The man was meticulous with everything.

“You actually drafted a contract?” I looked up at him in disbelief.
He didn’t look the least bit fluttered. He leaned against the counter, his hands tucked in his pockets, watching me with that unreadable expression that always made me feel stripped bare. “Yes I did—and I'd love for you to read it,” he said simply.
I dragged in a breath and lowered my gaze to the page again. My pulse jumped when I read the first clause aloud.
