NORA I sat on the cozy couch in the cottage, looking out of the window at the lush green surroundings. But as the sun began to set, it became increasingly evident that something was amiss. The days had blurred into each other, marked only by the changing light and the chirping of birds outside. I missed Rhett’s presence, his and his gentle touch. He used to visit me regularly, no matter how busy he was, just to check on me, to make sure I was comfortable. But as time ticked away, his visits became fewer and farther between.
