"What-what is—'' I mutter, leaning on the sofa, suddenly dizzy as Landre’s words echo in my head over and over again. I don’t know how long I stand there in pure shock before I look up and realize he’s gone.
"Landre," I try to call out, but my voice betrays me, only coming out in a whisper. I run toward the front, and just then, I hear the sound of his car taking off before I reach the door.
"No! Landre!" I call out as he speeds around the corner, heading for the estate gates, but I can’t let him just leave me like this. I don’t understand what is happening. He can’t be leaving me because of that b***h. No, I won’t let him.
