Ch 9

A blond nun was standing right in front of them with crossed arms beneath her breasts. She was extremely beautiful with sea blue eyes.

“well I don’t mind getting breached if people like that come” Zane said with smirk.

“oye you filthy villains” she said with a cross look.

“you’ve captured one of my kids”

“we don’t have any kids here except for my little sister” draken replied

“wait a second” Zane said.

“is Chris with you”

“I knew it you villains captured him” the nun replied

“wait we didn’t-”. but before draken could finish the nun came in front of Zane out of nowhere and punched the man in the gut which sent him flying back. Then she came in front of draken who was standing beside Zane. All of this happened in a millisecond.

“she’s fast, too fast” draken thought.

She punched draken too but he put his guard up. The punched pushed him away and he slid back without moving his feet. He put his guard own.

“will you listen for a moment” draken said

“let me pound my fist into your face first” she said crackling her knuckles.

“fine have it your way, give me your best shot” draken replied.

They both were about to exchange blows when suddenly the sound of a flush stopped them. Out of the bathroom came a boy who both of the fighters recognized instantly. The boy came infront of the nun.

“Christina what are you doing here” Chris asked

She checked Chris’s body everywhere if he had some sort of injury.

“are you okay, does it hurt anywhere” she asked

“I’m fine, let me go” he said as he let me go.

“what happened, you were here yesterday but when I woke up today you were gone” she asked

“but then I was captured” Chris said.

“by these people right, don’t worry I’ll give them a beating they won’t forget” Christina replied.

“no these people actually saved me” Chris said.

“oh then these people are not evil” Christina asked.

“yes Christina they’re not evil” Chris replied.

“that was some display of power and speed, you’re an elite aren’t you” Draken asked.

She suddenly became alert.

“how do you know that” she asked with a sharp glare.

“don’t worry, I’m one too” Draken replied.

Moments later the whole crew was in the church. They went behind the church to find a medium sized house with a big garden in front of it. The house had a traditional Japanese style to it. The house had triangle shapes on it topes with exterior made of wood. The kids were playing in the garden.

“oh its Chris” one kid said.

“are you okay” all of them huddled up around him.

“yeah I’m fine” Chris replied

“now now don’t huddle up around him give him some space” Christina said.

Alice stayed to play around with the other children while the rest of them went inside.

“so you wanted to ask me something” she said as she poured them tea.

“this is a nice looking house, is it Japanese” Draken asked.

“it belonged to my father, he was Japanese” she said

“after the great war I decided to make it an orphanage”.

“the great war huh” charlotte thought about it.

Charlotte didn’t know really much about the war other than that It happened. She did have someone that used to come every day and teach her different stuff. But strangely enough didn’t tell her much about the war.

“you know that we started a movement against the current government, and with your strength we could make a lot of difference” draken said.

Christina looked out of the window. She could see all the kids busy in their usual routines. Some were playing around, running everywhere while some lay beneath a tree drawing on paper. Then she looked back at draken who was waiting for his answer.

“ok, ill join your cause” she replied

“really well that was eas-”

“but” she said

“but?” draken exclaimed

“I won’t actively help you” the nun replied

“my first priority is this orphanage and I can’t let anything happen to it but I will try to help in any other way” she said.

After saying that she thought maybe he wouldn’t accept her in the rebellion but to her surprise that wasn’t the case.

“ok, well accept that welcome to the resistance Christina” draken replied.

“one more important question las” Zane said in a very serious tone.

“will you marry me”

The whole crew was now outside the garden ready to leave.

“come on Alice time to go home” draken said

“aww but I want to pway more” Alice said

“you can play later its getting dark time to go home” draken replied

Zane was going slow with his down sulking.

“what did you expect she is a sister” charlotte said.

“ah yes the most beautiful things in life are forbidden” Zane said.

“you just made that up didn’t you” charlotte said.

“yeah, but it’s true” Zane replied.

“goodbye” the children waved at their visitor

On top of the church stood a man looking at this scene. He touched his transmitter to speak.

“they’re here your clear to engage” jackal said

Out of nowhere several armored vehicles came out of nowhere. Dozens of mechsoldiers came out and surrounded the place.

“don’t move” one of them shouted.

Out of one of the vans came someone whom they didn’t expect to come at all. Two of the guards ordered Christina to get down on her knees and put her hands behind her back.

“Susan” Christina spited out the words.

“hello old friend” Susan looked down on her.

“I see you’ve kept up the tyrant thing going” Christina said.

“but you should know better that guns like thes-” Christina was about to get up fight when Susan stopped her

“ah ah ah, if you try anything funny I’ll have to do something these precious children you love so much” Susan said.

Christina looked at the two soldiers who pointed their weapons at the group of children. They all were huddled up together and scared, scared so much Christina could see them trembling. Christina then sat down again going in the same position.

“look at you, once you were so strong and powerful but now your tied down by this useless weight” Susan said as she looked at the useless cattle in front of her

“honestly you should get rid of this trash” Susan said

“you’re under arrest under the crimes of terrorism” Susan said

“arrested? but I’m just a nun” Christina replied

“but you just said you’ll help in the resistance didn’t you” Susan asked.

“what..., but how did you know” Susan said.

“oh don’t be so naïve Christina” she said as she held up Susan’s chin and put her face in front of hers.

“I have eyes everywhere” she said

“oh that hot” Zane said as he looked at them

“now’s not the time for that you i***t, do you have any plans to get out of here” Draken asked

“nope, didn’t anticipate this boyo” Zane replied.

“and you” Susan turned around towards charollete

“you think you could escape me” Susan said.

“rebellious as ever I see”

This time when she looked at her she wasn’t scared. Her usual self would be quacking in fear right now and asking for forgiveness. But now was different, now she could stand up for herself.

“I’m done being your slave” she said crossly

“oh what is this” Susan said with a surprised look.

“you’ve grown a spine”

“I’m not listening to you ever again” charollete

“I’ve already told you I don’t need your approval” Susan said

“if I want you to be the next ruler you will be the next ruler”

“get them in the van and be extra cautious, I don’t want them running away again” Susan ordered

They all got in the van one by one and then the whole convoy left. They were all sitting beside each other.

“curse that woman, using the kids as leverage” Christina said

“nothing we could do really over there” Zane said.

Christina tried to break free from her cuffs. They weren’t normal cuffs. Instead of having a chain between the cuffs it was a metal block with two holes in it.

“it’s no use, these cuffs are made so elites can’t break them” Draken said.

“umm miss Christina” charollete asked.

“how do you know my mother” she asked

“I see you’re her daughter” Christina said

“honestly I didn’t hear from her after she got married she wanted to become a leader and I decided to open an orphanage but before that we were best friends” she said

“best friends before the war that is” she said in a depressed tone.

“best friends?” charlotte asked.

“yeah we used to go to the same school” Christina replied

“school?” Zane asked.

“oh, you guys were born after the war so maybe you don’t know” Christina replied

The vehicle suddenly halted. The back door opened and two guards with their exoskeletons were there.

“move” one of them exclaimed

As they got out of the metal vehicle a cool breeze hit all their faces. To their surprise they were surrounded by sea as far as the eye could see. The sun was setting in the distance leaving an orange hue in the sky. Behind draken was a huge building shaped like a parallelogram. It had thousands of windows.

“what the hell is this building” draken asked

“it’s a prison” Christina said.

They were on a small island which was connected through the main city by a long bridge.

“well I’ve never seen a prison like this before” Zane said

“this building was before the war” Christina replied.

“enough talking move” one guard ordered.

They entered the huge compound as the day got dimmer and darkness engulfed the sky. As they went in the thing they noticed it was huge. It was a three story building with prison cells everywhere. they’re were metal stairs which you could use to go up. they looked around as they went forward and halted in front of a door in the corner of the room. The door opened which led to a room downstairs again. They went down a few steps to find themselves in big room with a metal door in front of them.

“oh not this again” draken said frustrated.

“hehe, brings back some memories eh” charlotte said.

They were all thrown into the cell and the door closed with the two guards guarding it. Their cuffs automatically came off. Christina looked at the wall for a while and then gave it a big punch.

“not even a scratch huh” Christina said in spite.

“forget about it it’s probably made of the same structure those cuffs were” Zane said.

“still, I didn’t realize they’d bring us to a place this old” Christina said.

“so you took part in the war huh” draken asked

“that’s right I was a soldier, a soldier and one of the first elites” Christina said

She moved her hair away from the back of her neck. 002 was written on her neck.

“you have a code too don’t you” Christina asked draken.

He pulled down his shirt to show a mark on his chest.

“so you’re the ones they made after the war huh” Christina asked

“yeah” draken replied

“umm, if you don’t mind can you tell us how the war started since I don’t know much” charollete asked

“I would like to know that too” draken said

She looked at all of them diverting their attention towards her.

“well let’s see” she sat down on a bed

“it was the year 2036, America was declining as the superpower and in its stead china was rising”.

“America, china?” charollete asked.

“ahh you guys don’t know” charollete asked

“Back then the world was divided into seven continents and these two countries had the most power” she said

“America in a final attempt to regain their supremacy attacked china, and then obviously china retaliated and they had backup from their allies. At first it was a war only between these two but naturally it became a grand war in which everyone wanted to participate. It wouldn’t have been a big deal since two wars have happened in the past but this time mankind had a secret weapon “NUCLEAR WEAPONS”. She paused at that moment

“ive heard about those, weapons of mass destruction can take out cities” zane said

“one nuclear is enough to wipe S a nation but a nuclear war is much more powerful. In the end nobody expected what happened next. China launched a nuclear missile to America and America sent to china. The resulted up in the land to change into three distinct regions. The three continents which you know came into being like that.

The world had learnt its lesson and stepped back but the two current superpowers were still battling it out to see who was the main power. That when the second greatest weapons were developed, the elite program”.

There was a heavy silence after that.

“ human beings heavily modified by nanites”

“ the first batch was ours which were made after the war, the results far exceeded what we expected, super soldiers made capable of decimating whole armies”.

“ It wasn’t long enough when the other superpower got wind of this news”

“The rest you probably know” the nun said as she laid back down

“ wow I didn’t know all that”

Charollete said

“ yeah well now you know”

Christina replied

“ I’m more worried about the children”

Zane asked at one corner of the room

“ Don’t worry Chris is with them”

replied

Meanwhile back at the orphanage

Children scattered everywhere Chasing each other. Some at the kitchen playing with random utensils. Chris tried his best to get everyone to calm down but it proved difficult for him. Suddenly the door opens and in came an old yet known face.

“ I’ve got treats”

The old man said in aloud voice.

All the children came running to the old man like moths to a light.

“ me, I want candy” all the children shouted

“ okay but you have to ho to sleep after this”

“ well that was easy” Chris said to Jenkins as he came from the bedroom tucking everyone in.

“ it’s easy to trick children when there’s sweets involved”

Chris didn’t respond. He looked worried and depressed.

“ what’s the matter” old man looked asked

“ I’m worried about them” he said

“ Don’t worry drakens with them”

“ Draken huh, he seems to be an amazing person” Chris replied

“ ah yes bright young fellow, could solve any problem”

There was a loud knock on the door. Chris went to open the door. A man 6 ft with golden hair stood before him. He had two katana’s at his side and wore a tuxedo. With white creamy skin and brown eyes he looked down a little.

“ yo” he said

“ um if your looking for a party it’s not here” Chris said

“ who is it” the old man asked as he came up to the doorbell.

“ oh my you’ve come back,how was your trip”

“ sadly I wasn’t able to gather much information”

“ um I hate to interrupt this reunion but um, who are you”

Chris asked

“ Oh of course let me tell you,

I’m grey, grey rosefield second in command of the rebellion”
