I was literally sprinting through the lobby and f*****g anxious in the elevator. I only got to chill when I opened the door to my bedroom and found Elena awake.
Leo was by her side, and they seemed to be talking. I held the doorknob whilst trying to catch my breath. I was panting.
Elena was the first to notice my presence and she looked in my direction. Leo followed her gaze immediately and stood from the bed.
“Vince,” he came to me, giving me a scrutiny gaze. “Are you okay?”
I nodded. It was hard to speak when I was still trying to catch my breath.
“What happened back there?” Leo seemed more interested in getting the tea. But I was more interested in going over to Elena and making sure she was alright.
