Chapter 3The summer flew by and as fleeting as it was, it was the best summer Ani had ever known. Cam came over every day and picked her up. They would go to the creek to play around with the turtles and snakes or exploring through the fields and meadows or they would go into town to play pinball and mess around. But mostly, they would sneak away to kiss.
Ani became more and more secretive about Cameron as they discovered more about their feelings for each other, emotional as well as physical. She didn’t spend nearly as much time with her mother as she had in the past, but Francine didn’t mind that much, she was just glad that Ani had found a friend outside of school.
