“Stop the car, Noah.” Her teeth are clenched now, her body stiff. “That’s not what I meant–” “Stop the f*****g car!” she screams, hitting my shoulder, fists flying. “Stop it, Noah! Stop it now!” I yank the car over, barely hitting the driveway, tires screeching on the wet pavement. She’s out of the car before I can unbuckle, stepping into the storm without a single damn thought. “Ray!” I call, throwing the door open. She doesn’t stop.
