I don’t know what we’re supposed to tell Will yet about… whatever this is, but I wish we didn’t have to pretend all the time. I like being close to her. I need it. I want to hold her hand in public, brush her cheek just because I feel like it, steal a kiss because it’s ours. And I want to do that anywhere. Not just behind closed doors. We get ready and head out. As soon as we step into the cool evening air, Ray shivers. It’s crisp now, late fall, winter already curling its fingers around the edges of the day.
