Chapter 3

***Sarah*** I could tell Bo was excited to meet his niece as he should be. The few moments I spent with her I could tell she was smart, kind, strong and so much like her mother. He gathered his beach items trying to seem as human like as possible. He sent me to the local store to get swim shorts, a wagon, lounge chairs, beach towels, and anything else I thought he might need. I only hoped that Becca would let him in. Becca didn’t have it easy growing up in a werewolf boarding school only going home for a brief vacation each summer and during holiday breaks. That even became too much for her as we got older and her desire to shift became less. I was the witch assigned to her at school and as such we became best friends. I would often accompany her home. Although it was beautiful I could sense there was something not quite right. We get back to the Pack house after a long flight and short drive to find the house completely empty. We went to her room and found everything the way we left it the last time we were home. We were 15 now and we would be celebrating Becca and her Brother Bo’s birthday while we were here. Becca made us something to eat and we were sitting on the coach watching a chick flick when Becca’s Mother came storming through the living room. Her Father and Buster in tow. Becca stood quickly, “Hello Father”, he turned to her gave her a quick embrace and whispered, “you two go find Bo he will come home once he knows you’re here”. Before she left her fathers arms mother was storming out the door not before turning to her and saying, “hopefully you will be smarter than me and get out while you can and never come back.” Before we knew it Bo came running in the house embracing Becca they didn’t speak out loud to one another but they spent that night in the treehouse. The next morning Becca came gliding into her room packed her things and said it was time for her to leave. Bo came in just as she was leaving wearing only a pair of cut off shorts. He had a black backpack over his shoulder. He gave it to his sister and told her, “stay safe sis” she hugged him and they exchanged a long stare. I learned later she was telling him to look after me and keep me safe. Her Father had stumbled upon her mother while he was on a run. She had been conspiring with dark witches. She had sacrificed their pack members, and nearly Becca’s younger brother Buster if her father wouldn’t have stepped in. They had found a small coven just outside of the parklands who were causing contention and even war at times between packs. They were dealt with immediately and then I was asked to cleanse the pack lands to restore peace and serenity by Alpha Andrew himself. When he realized Becca had left he went to his office and didn’t leave for a week. I remember the day Alpha Andrew emerged from his office. It was quiet and peaceful. Buster was playing with some of the other pups while Bo had taken another patrol. *** “Sarah, my love are you ready for the beach?” I hop up, our wagon loaded and walk towards the door when Bo snakes his arm around my waist and twirls me around to see my strong alpha modeling his beachwear. A yellow tank top that looked as though it had been poured onto him. His muscular chest and shoulders barely contained. My eyes travel down to the aqua shorts with yellow bananas on them. The shorts barely reach his mid thigh. I begin laughing hysterically plant a kiss on his lips and walk out the door knowing he’d be right behind me. We place our beach supplies into our Lexus SUV and drive 10 minutes to the beach. I get out of the passenger seat and turn to see Bo glued to the driver seat staring ahead I follow his gaze and see Bell playing in the sand with her pet. Becca close beside her. Becca turns to see her brother and smiles widely. “Bo, are you just going to stare or do you want to meet her?” That was enough to pull him from his trance. He quickly gets out and runs faster than a normal human would and picks up his sister twirling her around. She laughs like I hadn’t ever heard her laugh before. Bell turns to him and says in her angelic voice, “who are you mister and why are you hugging my mommy”. Bo kneels down to speak to her and before words exit his mouth Rebecca says, “ this is Bo he is Sarah’s husband and my brother”. If he’s your brother that means he’s my, uncle. Hi Uncle Bo, you’re the first uncle I’ve ever met and you are very big and muscle-ly. Where is Sarah?” I walk over right as the words come out of her mouth. I kneel down and her arms wrap around my neck. “He what about your very big muscle-ly uncle” Bo stated. She then runs to him, “spin me like momma”. Bo happily picks her up and spins running around and playing with her. Becca and I retreat to the lounge chairs watching lovingly at the duo on the sand. “Becca, thank you for this. He’s missed you more than you know, but hey did..” Becca cuts me off. I am happy to have you and Bo in our lives but I don’t want anyone else knowing she exists or that you have seen me. We came to the cottage to get away from the day to day rush. So I can relax and she can enjoy her childhood. The stream was one of the most magical places as a child it was peaceful and calming. Father tracked me down 4 years ago and gave me the beach cottage. My brothers and always had the best adventures there and it was close enough Father could run back to the pack if they needed him.” I ask her, “what happens after this week?” She responds, “Bell and I go home we continue living our life.” I begin setting up the picnic lunch we prepared. As I lay out the food and drinks I turn to Becca, “then let’s focus on this week”. I was attempting to use my calming charm on her when she says, “stop the witchy stuff, let’s just enjoy this time together. You were my best friend and I missed you.” Becca leans toward me and I catch her in a warm embrace. We stayed that way several minutes. Bo came running towards us with Bella on his shoulders. “Hulk hungry” Bell laughs, “Wonder Woman is hungry too”. She walks over and sits in her mothers lap patting her cheeks. “ My uncle is sooo strong..” her voice trails off as she eats her lunch. The two women giggle at Bells comment, “that’s because I ate my vegetables, will you eat all of your vegetables?” After lunch we play with Bell and Shmelly more. The sun began descending gracefully behind the waves Bell stumbling to her mother. Her tiredness apparent in her walk. Becca picks her up and turns to Bo and I. Before any words come from her mouth, “can I carry her home for you?” Bo asks. I sense Becca’s hesitation then notice a flicker in her eyes and she quickly agrees. We enter the cottage a be a smile is on Bo’s lips. “It’s just how I remember it.” Becca instructs Bo, “she’s in our room bottom bunk, nightlight on”. Bo gently carries Bell to bed Shmelly right behind them. Bell reaches her hand up to Bo’s cheek and sleepily asks, “can we play again uncle Bo?”She closes her eyes again “I sure hope so,” he answers and gives her a gentle kiss on the forehead. Bo heads to the kitchen to find his mate and his sister. He wraps his arms around his mate and thanks his sister for one of the best days of his life. “How about you two join us for the chocolate factory, book store, and dinner tomorrow?” Becca asks. Bo’s face lights up and we agree. We return to the pack house that night to the sound of happy pups watching a movie and eating popcorn. We immediately run to the couch to join them. “How was you date with mommy, daddy”
