Chapter 11

1306 Words
***Sarah*** I watch Becca walk towards the pack house with confidence. This time I’m hoping she will stay. She has driven past so many times or walked right to the border but never dared to cross it. The fear of being torn from her family again was far too much for her to carry. She and Buster held hands as they walked together to the border. Bo joined them immediately gathering her other hand in hers. The children followed closely. I heard Bella ask, “momma, grandpa’s excited to see us”. I watch Becca look to Bell and then looked ahead. Her father was standing in the shadows of the trees in his room old form. That’s when I realized Bells father is a witch and she is already having premonitions. I knew that Becca had buried her past deep. Only allowing Will in and she would occasionally push him away too. Bell’s mouth formed to a smile as she ran to her grandfathers wolf. “Papa!” She exclaimed as she jumped on him hugging him. “I’ve been waiting my whole life to meet you!” I watched the tears well up in my father-in-laws eyes as he realized Becca was home and this was her daughter. Becca walked to her father and put her forehead to his, “Hi daddy”. He nuzzled into her neck and held on to him like he was a figment of her imagination. He lates down beside Bell and she climbed onto his back he stood and she wrapped her delicate fingers in his fur as he took off into a sprint. Her laughter infectious as smiles spread across our faces. We made it to the pack house and as we walk in there is a buzz in the air. Pups playing in the living room. Teens sitting on the couches playing games and watching movies. Typical Friday night except for that feeling. I walk towards the front door and feel the excitement even more. I find Bell standing there alone. As I get closer I feel her emotion taking hold of my soul and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my lips. “Bell where’s your grandfather?” I ask. “He went up to change and told me to wait here.” Ok, how did you know that was your grandfather out there in the forest”. She looks at me and I felt slightly scared until I realized it wasn’t my emotion but hers. “Momma is a wolf and a human, and Will too. You’re something different but my cousins are like me. We’re all the same. Do you believe me?” She asks. I turn to her and smile, “I absolutely believe you baby girl, have you talked to Mommy about it?” She turns her head to look up the stairs before anyone appeared, “Papa!” A wide smile spread on her lips. He swooped down and picked her up eager to have her in his arms again. They go to the living room. I mind link Bo to let him know about Bells ability and could feel his excitement from his side of the mate bond. I returned to the living room where I found Bo on the couch with the kids watching a movie. He pulled me into his lap and then up to his chest. Bell and the smaller kids are on the floor playing with their grandfather. I watched the children inquisitively as they played. Buster joined in. Bo has I well rehearsed smile on his face. He was strategizing, mourning, or speaking to his men. Probably a combination of the three. I slowly felt Becca enter my thoughts trying to connect with me. “Sarah, sorry I was gone so long. Sorry I left. I hope you can forgive me. Is there room for Bell and I here after I resign from I’m my hospital and sell our house?” I lean into Bo and mind link him to tell him Becca wants to move home. We can fix up the old lake house for her. Bo smiled and nods his head in agreement. Becca and Will walked in together and I nod to her that there is always a place for her and Bell here. My father-in-law could sense Becca’s presence and stood he walked towards her, Buster and Bo followed. They went outside to the treehouse. ***Jared (Becca’s Father)*** My heart swelled up it’s pride when I saw Becca and Bell. I decided to go to the treehouse as that had always been a neutral space and the kids loved it. We called the older boys. Although Bo was Alpha of the pack I was still our family patriarch and lead our family. Be would often counsel with me until he got the hang of things. “First things first guys, today we had some returning uninvited guests. The dark witches led by your mother came. They tried to do harm to our family again. The threat is no longer as Buster and Becca have eliminated the threat.” Benny chimes in, “Becca are you there dad did you say Becca?” A smile spread across my lips, “wait til you boys meet little Bell her daughter.” Brushton responds, “Becca has a baby?” “I sure do and I will be moving back home soon. Hopefully you guys can come visit when we get settled.” Becca couldn’t help the smile on her face. The boys began making plans to come for an extended summer visit. I looked over at Buster who just continued to stare at his hands. “What’s going on buddy?” I asked as I tap his knee. “I want you to adopt me Father. I know you guys have always taken care of me but I’d like it to be official.” I leaned forward and pulled him into a hug. “Of course I’ll adopt you, you’ve been mine since the moment your mother walked you through the door”. I looked Bo and Becca in the eyes. “I’m so grateful to have all my children together again.” I stood and walked towards the fireman’s pole. “I’m going to go play with my grandchildren and load them up on sugar.” Bell was first to respond as she swung from the rope swing to the ground and ran to the door. She always was faster than the boys, “ who wants to have a sleep over with grandpa?” She yells to the kids and they squeal in excitement. I’m not gonna lie I’m just as thrilled. We go to the Alpha floor and pull all the mattresses to the floor of the big living room like we did when Becca and Bo were pups. Every extra pillow and blanket was on the floor. Sarah and Becca got snacks from the kitchen. We turned on Balto on the projector screen and enjoyed our time as a family. ***Will*** I went to the hospital to do rounds last night as I tried to figure out what Becca’s next move was. I was headed to see her and my mind is racing wondering if she will leave again. I knew when she saw Jared she would feel the pull to be back home with her pack. As I walked up to the pack house I noticed Becca on the porch. “Hey beautiful” I say as I walk towards her. She smiles gently at me. She then turns toward me and asks, “do you want to come help me pack up my house so I can come home?” I looked at her a look of surprise plastered on my face.
