The elevator ride to the ground floor was long and quiet. I stood on the corner of the elevator, as close as I could be to the wall. Ego stood in the middle, much to my dismay. When the doors opened, all I wanted to do was to dash away from Ego, out of the Prime Building. But I stepped out of it and walked ahead of Ego at a slow pace. There was no use in running. Every Asik I looked at wasn't looking at me, yet I felt their gaze burning my skin. None even glanced at Ego. Maybe they weren't aware that a single human – me – knew who and what Ego really is. After we exited the building, I took the chance to look around for any damage or evidence of the attack. There was none. All the glass walls were untouched, unbroken. The concrete floors were unscratched, with no signs of bomb explosions,
