I think too much has happened today. I feel not exactly broken, but at least very… almost empty.
When Clay came back, that look in his eyes… I knew that things couldn’t be good. He saw something in the listing that would only make things worse for us. But why didn’t Zeke and Nathan come back with him?
“Wes?” Sterling touches my shoulder.
“Yeah?” I look up at him.
“I know that things are complicated right now, but I just need to make sure that you’re okay. I know that… Things aren’t always easy when it comes to Zeke.” His eyes are soft.
