The garrison was one of the few buildings in Redmondis designed with no thought for aesthetics. The Black Robes’ tower reached high into the sky, each spire seeming to urge the others on in their pursuit of architectural glory. The crafters’ towers, on the other hand, twisted around each other like vines, curving and dipping in unexpected ways. Even the guards’ living quarters, where Wilt had stumbled into Daemi’s room days earlier, were built to enhance light and fresh air, if not as intricately designed as the others.
