The thought came immediately into Wilt’s mind, bringing with it a wave of strange emotions that his current form couldn’t grasp. He let them sink down into the darkness and patted a paw on the window.
Daemi looked up to see a pair of cat’s eyes watching her. Two pairs.
She slid the window open and the two cats tumbled into the room. The larger one sprang easily onto the floor, while the kitten jumped straight into her arms and started nuzzling her chest. She held its warmth against her, stroking its back.
‘I wouldn’t let him get too familiar.’
Daemi turned to see Wilt standing behind her, a strange smile on his face.
She raised an eyebrow, the kitten eagerly licking her neck now. ‘This?’
‘Is Higgs. And he’s enjoying himself a little too much, wouldn’t you say?’
