Pinned against the rough bark of the tree, I felt my heart racing so fast it was a wonder it didn’t leap straight out of my chest. Devon’s muscular body loomed over me, and his piercing green eyes were locked on mine, an unsettling mix of frustration and something darker swirling in them.
