The hum of my mother’s voice filled the car, each word drilling into my skull like a jackhammer. She couldn't stop giving me rules about what to do and what not to do. It was making me so emotionally drained that I could feel myself loosing interest in going for the camp. No, I can't do that. I can't let the odds beat me to my dream.
