The heavy bass of the music moved through the house, and the laughter and chatter of dozens of my school mates echoed off the walls. My nerves were a tangled mess as Elvis and I made our way downstairs, moving through the crowd. We exchanged a glance, silently reminding each other to stick to the plan. I didn't know what the outcome of our outlandish plan was going to be, but it would be worth the risk to avoid getting in trouble with my parents who could arrive at any time. I climbed onto a small coffee table, the polished wood wobbling slightly beneath my feet. Elvis stood next to me, clapping his hands to grab everyone’s attention. Most people didn't even pay attention to him and he looked at me, distressed. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for what I was about to do.
