Chapter Fifteen

(Annette’s POV) “Luna Randve I am going to need you to back me up on something” I was going to need a heavy name to drop for what I needed. Grabbing a piece of paper I scribbled what I needed without getting too much into detail. If I went into detail I would have a novel.            “What is it Annette?” Randve sounded like she was trying to soften her voice, she probably was talking to Cajetan again.            “I want to visit Soren, can you make that happen?” I was really hoping that I would be able to see him, I wanted to talk to him so badly. I wanted to look into his eyes and get lost in them.            “He is not guilty yet so I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to visit him tomorrow, say 5pm?”  smiling I finished the rest of the note, I would be able to finally see him.            “Just make sure it is in the visiting area of the cells. I don’t want to piss off Cajetan. If any of the guards give you issues tell them to mindlink me and I will clear it up. They shouldn’t give you issues; even guilty prisoners get visits with their mates.”  I sighed folding over the piece of paper I kissed the top of it and jogged out of the house, not before I gave a hug and thanks to my mom for all her advice.            “Thank you Luna Randve! This means so very much to me. I owe you.”              “We are family, call me Randve. You can owe me babysitting!”  I chuckled slightly before schooling my face. If the guards saw me smiling they would question me more. The smoother this went the better for everyone.            Getting down to the cells two guards stopped me, I had recognized them from this morning and from the training grounds. They were skilled fighters but nowhere near my level.            “Annette why are you down here and not with the Luna?” The guard on the left asked, I think his name was Thomas but I was not a 100% on that.            “I am here to speak to my mate Soren, I am giving him a note and will see him tomorrow at 5pm for visit” I tried to make my way past them again but was stopped.            “He is supposed to go to trial, I don’t think it is a good idea for you to go down there” the right guard spoke up this time, I didn’t fully recognize him might have been new, looked young.            “Plus I don’t see a mark on your neck.” Thomas spoke looking at the other guard confirming his suspicions            “I have permission from the Luna, you wanna mindlink her? You saw how pissed off she was earlier, I wouldn’t want to mindlink her with a trivial problem like this, for an order she already gave her permission on. Would you?” raising my eye brow at them in challenge. Both of them visible swallowed hard at the thought of mindlinking the Luna.            “Thought not now let me past before I make a way past.” They both stepped aside and let me through. Wise decision. They pointed me down the hallway to the cell on the right. I slipped the piece of paper under the door and walked back up the hallway I could have handed the note to him but my emotions were running too high today for that.            “Good day, see you tomorrow” I waved to the guards as I left.            After the day I had I needed to take out some frustration so I headed to the locker room for some workout clothes. Changing into my sports bra and some spandex shorts I looked at my reflection. My eyes looked puffy like I had been crying for hours where in reality I had only let some tears fall.            Dark circles had settled under my eyes under the past couple hours, showing all the strong emotions had aged me. I didn’t care enough to try and cover them up, was never much of a make-up person.            Walking into the gym I warmed up on the treadmill before hopping on the elliptical. I was so engrossed in my work out I didn’t see the Beta enter the gym.            “Annette you look like you are trying to forget some stuff, or work through something?” crossing his arms and raising an eye brow. I knew Beta Astor, these were rhetorical questions I knew it. Randve or Cajetan had probably already told him, he was the Beta after all.            “Yeah the rouge situation has me a bit scrambled, one of the Rouges is my mate, just found out today.” I slowed down on the elliptical.            “Randve told me just about an hour ago along with Cajetan. He seemed let’s say… not happy” the Beta just chuckled. Alpha Cajetan, Beta Astor, and Gamma Eeroi were all brothers, Astor loved to torture Cajetan while Eeroi was the peacemaker.            “Why was he angry?” Why would me finding my mate make him angry?            “Well Cajetan considers you family, along with Randve, we all do. He doesn’t want to have to call the Council and have you lose your mate.” Beta Astor rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably, he wasn’t the mushy kind so for him to say I was family was a step out of his comfort zone.            “Thanks for thinking of me like family. It means a lot to me, and to my sisters.” I faked whipping a tear smiling at him which earned me a punch on the shoulder.            “Cut it out you. Want to spar to take your mind off of your situation?” he motioned over to the sparing area.            “Just as long as at the end I don’t have to go to the hospital, Freyja is working tonight and I don’t need another lecture from her” chuckling I got off of the elliptical and over to the sparing area.            “Don’t leave your defense down kid” Astor clapped me on the back as we walked over.
