I sat on the bed wondering what and why he bolted out of the makeshift room. Kinnon walked in and looked at me like I stole his puppy. “What?” I seethed at thim. He rolled his eyes and set down. In the four plus years that I have known him, he has never once not answered me or hell not spoken to me. I crossed my arms and laid back on the hospital bed. She turned and looked at him and mouthed an O.. “Why Kinnon brought you to my hospital?” she smiled and there was a familiarity about her smile that made me feel comfortable. “I'm assuming it’s because I have a horrible migraine which honestly isn’t hurting any more, but my body hurts. I feel like I maybe coming down with the flu or something.” She started scribbling notes down on her folder and nodding her head. “Also her eyes changed from blue to a glowing green” Kinnon said “Oh he speaks” I said  with venom laced in each word and glared at him. Dr. Emma just looked at him and nodded her head. “So Selina is it, I'm going to ask you several questions. How old are you?” “I am 21” I replied. “When is your birthday? And have you ever had odd things happen like this before?” I looked at her trying to gauge where she was going with these questions. “I ummm Today is my birthday. Ummm Yes I have had odd things happen to me every year it’s usually just one thing not like two or three at the same time.’ She c****d an eyebrow at me “What do you mean yes, but not two or three?”  I swallowed a big gulp of air and looked at her. “Selina, I promise what you tell me is confidential and will go no further. I am just trying to access your to see what kind of test need to be ran.” I nodded my head and took a deep breathe.  “Ok soo on my 16th birthday my hair went from straight to curly, on my 17th birthday a birthmark magically, appeared” she looked at me with a straight face and nodded. “On my 18th birthday I swear my hearing improved 100x or more, on my 19th birthday I no longer needed eyeglasses I had perfect vision per my doctor, 19th birthday I grew seven inches over night and my 20th birthday my mile time got way better it went from 11:44 to 9:30 and well I’m at my 21st sooo” So on your 21st Birthday your eyes changed colors and you are having body pain. Selina, have you told your parents about these changes?” She looked at me and I shook my head. “ Selina, have your parents told you about the change that comes to some young girls your age?” she asked “what do you mean by the change, like menopause?” I gasped out and she snickered and cleared her throat “Umm No, Selina I’m going to run some blood work to begin with and then we can go from there.” I nodded and looked over at Kinnon. Something was off, I just knew it. He wasn’t himself.
