Five years later

After five years of being in New York Mira and I are finally back in LA. I cannot say I missed the place, but one thing is for sure, I am ready for my hotel's grand opening tonight.
My daughter is finally nine years old; she is grown so much over the past five years. It has been just the two of us for so long and getting my life together has been tough, Carryn has disappeared after two months in prison. She escaped and is in the wind no one can find her. I have no idea where she is or if she plans to return.
I pray to God she does not.
Walking into the hotel after almost six years of waiting gives me a sense of pride.
If only I had the love of my life with me to cheer me on, to stand by my side to support me.
