I knew this was complicated. There was much to learn from Lindsey, the Earth woman who’d appeared from nowhere on the planet. Maxim would want to talk with her. How had she come to be in the air ducts? Why was she here? How had she gotten into the main area cargo hold? Krael had destroyed the peaceful balance on the planet, the illusion of safety and everyone was nervous. Fearful. Warriors had died and many worried they might be next. While we were in exile, we were also supposed to be safe. Female mates now worked and lived among us.
I didn’t give a s**t about any of it. I only cared about Lindsey. I should have handed her over to Maxim. I should have asked her all the questions that were piling up in my mind. But she was my marked mate and that trumped everything.
