A black BMW slid across the asphalt, revealing Lucke lying on the ground. I jumped up from the chair, unable to stop staring in horror at the scene before me. Lucke was lying on the sidewalk, blood oozing from somewhere on his body. Fear overwhelmed me, and before I knew it, my feet moved towards him. I didn't check for oncoming cars when I crossed the street, ignored the people around Lucke, and didn't listen when they told me to stay away from the body. My heart felt like it would leap out of my chest, and I was sure my skin was pale, like a white sheet. But I was scared, an unfamiliar fear. Lucke couldn't be hurt.
