A month and a half had passed since my argument with Lucke in his room. We had been maintaining a sibling-like and peaceful step-sibling relationship, where s*x or love was never mentioned, and we almost seemed like real siblings. This felt both silly and smart to me. Silly because I couldn't believe I had been suppressing my feelings for him for more than a month, and smart because, in reality, it actually was the best thing to do. I didn't really understand why Lucke didn't want me with him, but what I did know was that it was best for both of us. No one would accept a stepbrother-sister relationship, least of all our parents.
