Clara took a deep breath and looked up at Kai. “I should get home,” she said quietly.
He nodded, wrapping a soft towel around her shoulders and pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. “Take all the time you need.”
“I’ll be out in a moment,” Clara added softly.
Kai gave her a reassuring smile and quietly slipped out of the bathroom.
Once he was back in the bedroom, Kai found Silas and Dante waiting. He told them everything Clara had shared—the fear, the heartbreak, and her decision to leave for now.
They exchanged looks filled with concern and understanding.
A few minutes later, Clara reappeared in her clothes, the towel replaced by the familiar fabric of her outfit. She met their eyes with a small, apologetic smile.
“I need to get home,” she said simply.
