Morning Regret
Soft morning sunlight slipped through the large glass windows of the luxury suite inside Victoria Island.
Andrea slowly opened her eyes.
For a few seconds, she looked confused.
The unfamiliar ceiling.
The expensive room.
The scent of masculine perfume lingering in the air.
Then suddenly—
Everything from the previous night rushed back into her mind.
Her breathing stopped.
Andrea immediately sat upright on the bed.
The white blanket slipped slightly from her shoulders as panic filled her chest.
“Oh God…”
Her eyes slowly turned toward the man sleeping beside her.
Sebastian Gu.
Even asleep, he looked intimidating.
His dark hair rested carelessly across his forehead while the morning light highlighted his sharp features perfectly.
Andrea quickly looked away.
Shame flooded her entire body instantly.
What had she done?
Tears slowly filled her eyes.
She pulled the blanket tightly around herself while painful thoughts consumed her mind.
Her parents.
Her dignity.
Her broken life.
Everything felt ruined.
Andrea carefully climbed out of bed, trying not to wake Sebastian.
The room remained completely silent except for the sound of her uneven breathing.
As she picked up her clothes from the floor, her hands trembled badly.
Part of her wanted to run immediately.
Another part wanted to pretend last night never happened.
Andrea dressed quietly before glancing toward Sebastian one last time.
Surprisingly—
He looked peaceful.
Not cold.
Not dangerous.
Just… tired.
Andrea’s chest tightened strangely.
Why did she feel emotional looking at him?
She barely knew him.
Suddenly, her eyes noticed a black card resting on the bedside table.
Beside it was a handwritten note.
Andrea slowly picked it up.
The card contained a large amount of money.
Her eyes widened in shock.
Enough money to survive for months.
Andrea bit her lower lip painfully.
So this was truly just a transaction to him.
Something inside her heart hurt unexpectedly.
She quickly shook the feeling away.
What else did she expect?
Men like Sebastian Gu probably treated women like temporary entertainment.
Andrea slowly sat near the table and grabbed a pen.
After several seconds of hesitation, she finally began writing carefully.
I’m sorry about last night.
Thank you for helping me.
Please don’t look for me again.
— Andrea
She stared at the letter sadly before placing it beside the card.
Then quietly—
Andrea walked toward the door.
Before leaving, she glanced back once more.
Sebastian remained asleep.
Andrea lowered her eyes.
“Goodbye,” she whispered softly.
Then she left.
Minutes later, the hotel suite became silent again.
But not for long.
Sebastian slowly opened his eyes.
The moment he noticed the empty space beside him, his expression changed immediately.
He sat upright quickly.
“Andrea?”
Silence.
Sebastian frowned deeply.
His sharp eyes scanned the room instantly.
Then he noticed the note.
He grabbed it quickly and read the words carefully.
His jaw tightened.
For some strange reason—
Disappointment spread through his chest.
Sebastian was not used to women leaving him.
Usually, they stayed desperately hoping for attention or money.
But Andrea left quietly.
Without asking for anything.
That alone made her different.
Very different.
A knock suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
Mark entered carefully.
“Good morning, sir.”
Sebastian held up the note silently.
“She left.”
Mark looked surprised.
“She did?”
Sebastian stood slowly from the bed.
“Find out everything about her.”
Mark blinked.
“Everything?”
“Yes.”
Sebastian’s voice turned cold again.
“Who she is. Where she lives. Who her family is.”
Mark nodded immediately.
“I’ll start now.”
Sebastian walked toward the window silently.
Rain clouds still covered the city sky outside.
Yet somehow—
The image of Andrea’s tearful eyes remained trapped inside his mind.
And for the first time in years—
Sebastian Gu realized he did not want to forget someone.
