The morning arrived shrouded in a pale mist, the kind that clung to the ground and blurred the edges of reality. The infirmary hummed with subdued activity as the pack began its day, but the undercurrent of unease from the night before lingered like a shadow. Daisy stirred awake in her cot, the soreness in her muscles a sharp reminder of the magic she had wielded. Her body felt heavy, but her mind was sharper than ever, already piecing together fragments of last night’s events. Ashley was stable.
