All of a sudden, Eira’s face grew tense, her words careful and measured. “There’s something in my vision about you and Sir Orion. The journey ahead isn’t simple. Love will bring obstacles you can’t yet foresee, and it could put you in danger in ways you never imagined.”
“You… you can’t be serious.”
I could hardly believe that something so tender between us could turn into a disaster. One thing I knew for certain—Eira wouldn’t deceive me, and a witch’s vision had never proven false. I understood love carried its share of trials, but I hadn’t imagined it would demand such a cruel price.
