Moon Goddess

White. That’s all I saw. I wasn’t sure how long I was out, or where I was, or even if I was still alive. I just saw white. “Hello, Kazmiyha.” I heard a voice. Looking around, trying to find the source. Maybe I had gone crazy, maybe there was no voice at all and it was just my imagination. “No, you’re not crazy.” About that time, I spun around to find a beautiful tall woman, with long flowy black hair, green eyes, and bronze skin. “Hello? Who are you?” I asked, trying my best not to show any emotion. “I have many names; Selena, Moon Goddess, Mother… But you, my dear, can call me Selena.” MOON GODDESS!? I quickly bow my head. “My apologies, Moon Goddess. Had I known it was you this whole time, I would’ve greeted you more appropriately.” “No trouble at all, my dear. Please stand. We have many things to discuss.” What would the Moon Goddess, want or even need to discuss with me?” I look at the Moon Goddess and see her gesturing to a bench that wasn’t there a moment ago. Looking at my confusion, she chuckles, “It’s all right, Kazmiyha, I won’t harm you, and you’re not dead. You’re just in limbo while we work some things out. Your body is at the hospital and your dad is by your side. See?” She waves her hand in front of me and I can see what is happening before my eyes. My dad is there worried he’s lost me, but I’m right here. “Moon Goddess, please allow me to go back. My dad needs me. He’s already lost my mother.” The Moon Goddess chuckles again. This time, I’m not sure why she’s laughing. “Oh, my dear, your father hasn’t been quite honest with you has he?” Huh? My dad has always been honest with me. What is she talking about? “I’m sorry, Moon Goddess, but I am not sure what you mean. My dad has always been honest. He wouldn’t lie to me about something unless it was to protect me.” “That’s it, my dear. Now you’re catching up. Your father told you what he told you so that you would be safe. Here, have a seat and I’ll fill you in on the rest.” I sit down on the bench next to the Moon Goddess. Playing with my fingers and wringing my hands, I wasn’t sure what she could tell me that my dad hadn’t. “It all started before you were born. The All Mother, which is my mother, granted me 1 year on Earth. It had been 2 weeks since I came to Earth. I was passing by the nearby creek when I heard a growl coming up on my left. As I turned, the growling stopped. I saw a wolf one second and the next thing I knew, he changed into his human form. He knew who I was the moment he saw my eyes. I knew then that my mother had sent me to Earth not only to see the world but to be with my mate. Before I could tell him who I really was, we were making our way back onto his pack lands and into the office of the Alpha. He granted me permission to become a pack member, but I knew I could never become a pack member. I had to tell them both who I was, and I had to tell them quickly. I had asked for it to only be myself, the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and my mate, your father." “Your father was a sweet man. He looked at me like I was the only woman in the world… The Alpha of The Gold Moon Pack had gathered his Beta and Gamma and was waiting for me to explain. I looked at your father and gave him a small smile. I said ‘Alpha, I can’t become a member of your pack fully as I am no ordinary wolf. The All Mother has sent me down to Earth. I thought she had sent me to see how we were being treated differently, but now I know. I was sent down here to mate and have a child. This child will be the saving grace of our people. She will change the world and how we see it.’ You could have heard a pin drop, it was so quiet in there. You could see the questions in their eyes. ‘Well, how do we know you’re telling us the truth? How can you prove to us that The All Mother sent you?’ the Alpha had asked me. I only had one way of showing who I really was, and that was to shift. So that’s exactly what I did.” Wow, what a way to start my afterlife. Listening to The Moon Goddess tell me a fairy tale to get me to be okay with everything. “My dear, this isn’t your afterlife. You are very much still alive, simply in a coma.” “I’m sorry. What? You mean to tell me I am still alive and this is all just in my head?” I wasn’t sure what was going on. Wait a minute, I didn’t say that out loud! I said that in my head! I looked at Selena. She was smiling. ‘You can hear my thoughts?’ “Yes, my dear. Now please, may I continue telling you everything?” “Right, sorry Selena.” “After shifting into my solid white wolf, they all stood and bowed their heads. They finally recognized me as The Moon Goddess. Even your father stood and bowed, even though he was under no obligation to. The Alpha straightened up and cleared his throat. ‘Forgive us, Moon Goddess, we did not know who you were.’ The Alpha was very apologetic towards me. It was sweet. I politely let them know it was okay. They were not to blame for treating me the way they did. The Alpha allowed me to stay within the pack, and since I’m the Moon Goddess, well, I can already hear the mind links. Your father and I married a few months later and soon after, we found out I was pregnant. 3 months afterward, I had you Kazzy. Your grandmother, of course, did not want me to spend any time with you or bond with you, so she forced me back into limbo by making it seem like I died during childbirth and it hurt your father so much. Oh, how I wish I could’ve stayed and got to know you more and watch you grow. I am so sorry, Kazzy.” I am stunned. All these years, I did not know who my real mother was, and she was the one person I talked to and prayed to every single day. “So, do I like, call you mom now, or do I still call you Selena?” “Heaven’s child! You can call me whatever you want. Mom, Selena, Moon Goddess, I prefer it if you called me mom, though.” “Mom, it is then. So, you’re my mom, and The Moon Goddess, and my grandmother is The All-Mother? So will I have a solid white wolf as you do?” I really wanted to meet my wolf. It appeared she was hiding from me or didn’t want to come out. I just wanted to be like everyone else in my pack. I was already the outcast and then I got rejected by my mate and now I’m in a coma, talking to my mom. I just don’t know how much more I can take before it gets to be too much for me. “Yes, I am your mother, yes my mother, The All-Mother, is your grandmother, and about your wolf, I’m not sure if or when you will get one.” My mother looked at me solemnly as I try to decipher what she has just said. I may not get a wolf. But everyone has a wolf. How am I supposed to find a mate and have pups without a wolf? “Kazzy, it’s okay! You will still be able to find another mate and have pups, even if you never get a wolf. I said I wasn’t sure because, as the daughter of The Moon Goddess, it could take years for you to receive her. When I met your father, to him, I looked like a 23-24-year-old she-wolf. But in all reality, I was well into the hundreds. As deities, we age differently. You are going at the regular speed as humans, but now that you’re 16, your aging will slow. You will notice your peers aging, and you will outlive every single one of them. When you find your second chance mate, they will accept you as you, and, once mated, he will age the same as you. I am so sorry about how Damon treated you, my child. He was supposed to be your true mate. But now that he has rejected you, my daughter, he will never find another true mate. He will have to take a chosen mate as his Luna.” Okay, so here I am, in limbo, with my mom, the Moon Goddess, talking about her life and how I came about, and now we’re discussing my mate? Who knew that when I woke up this morning, all of this would happen? “Mom?” Wow, it felt fantastic to say that. “So, when do I get to go back home? I’m sure dad is worried about me.” I asked my mom. “I know we just met and all but, I don’t want him to worry anymore.” “I understand, my child, believe me. I just have a few more things I need to discuss with you before sending you back to your father.” We carried on like this for maybe another 30 minutes to an hour, learning things about each other. I know she knows most of mine since she is the Moon Goddess and all and is watching over me all the time, but it was still nice just sitting here talking to my mom. “Okay, final topic before sending you on your way. When you get back, I’m sorry dear, but you will have to leave The Blue Moon Pack. It doesn’t matter where you go, you may go wherever you can see yourself. Your father will probably stay at Blue Moon, however, but that’s all right. I will be by your side, always. You will return just not for a couple of years. You will need to visit certain packs and greet them and tell them who you are. It is very important that you tell them exactly who you are. It is crucial to your being.” “How am I supposed to know where to go or who to trust? What if I come across rogues? I have had no training!” “Kaz, you’re spiraling. Calm down, sweetie. I can give you 2 years to train with your father before you leave. That will give you plenty of time to train okay?” 2 years left with my dad, to train, to gain any knowledge of the outside world. That’s a lot to do. I can do this. I’m the daughter of the Moon Goddess for crying out loud! “Okay mom, I’m ready.” I look at her and go in for a hug before it all disappears. The next thing I know, I’m waking up in the hospital with my dad sitting next to me.
