Next Day:
I glanced at the clock and realized I was running late. I quickly grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs, hoping to catch Mary before she left. She had been calling me non-stop, reminding me that we had extra classes at school and a lunch date afterwards. I knew she hated waiting, but I had overslept and lost track of time.
As I opened the door, I saw her standing outside, tapping her foot impatiently. She looked annoyed, but also stunning in her blue dress and matching earrings. She had a knack for fashion, unlike me who just wore whatever was clean and comfortable.
"Finally!" she exclaimed, as she saw me. "What took you so long? Do you know how long I've been waiting here?"
