Chapter 5: Yes in the Dream

212 Words
Czenia's days blurred into work and quiet nights. *Czenia POV* I built my own marketing side business, but loneliness crept me in. My friends set me up on dates, but no one matched Zachie's spark. Then, the dreams got stronger. Every night, I saw him clear as day. In one night, we sat by the oak tree again. Zachie looked at me, his eyes are still full of that old warmth. "Czenia, I was wrong to let go. Do you still feel it? Will you be mine again?" In that dream, I didn't think twice. My heart jumped. "Yes," I said, with my cracked voice. "I want to be your girl again. I've waited for this." .......... And Zachie pulled her close, and they laughed like old times. The world felt right, kisses soft, and the promises looks real. She woke with a smile, but tears too. The bed was cold. Zachie was gone from her life, but not her mind. Was it just a dream, or a sign? I just sigh and sat up, whispering to the empty room. "Yes, Zachie. Even now." The words hung there, with a secret hope. Hoping that one day, dreams could turn real. Or maybe, this was my only way to hold on.
