Chapter Two

1383 Words
"I'll always love you, like it's the begging!" Brenda The next day I was getting ready to board on the boat with Aaron to head home to Haven Creek. For this time Aaron was not going to be sailing the lakes but we had a captain he hired. He did buy a bunch of books on how to boat. My dad had always loved boats. He was going to be green with envy when he saw us come home in Aaron's personal house boat. Now mind you it was not a yacht, but Aaron could very well afford a yatch. If he wanted to anyway. I was down in the little bedroom we were going to share. I was putting away my clothing. I notice a photo of myself and Aaron back during our high school days. Then a newer photo of us next to it. I smile as I pick up both photos. God how I loved this man. It did worry me some that I was so happy and what if something went wrong? What if something came and stopped me from being happy? Or basically taking away my happiness. How I do not know. But it could happen. I really needed to stop watching soap operas. They were bad for you. I smile then set the photos back down on the nightstand. There was a large tv in there and a dvd player. A sound system set up. It was all fancy. Lights were along the ceiling. It had plain cream walls. Each window had a curtain we could open or close the windows up. We had bought some food to place in the kitchen area. That was what Aaron was doing right now. While I was tending to my clothing. Then we were going to start sailing away. I soon am done putting away my clothing. I begin to put Aaron's away for him. It was the least I could do. He always did so much now to take care of me. He loved winning me over every day. Not that I minded that. But he needed to relax a little and see he did not need to win me over every day. He already had me. He would forever. I began to think about what our wedding might be like. And if I should write my vows out to Aaron. I would love to say something personal to him. Have a simple little wedding there in Haven Creek in my parents own back yard. • ❤︎ •• ❤︎ • I finish up putting away our clothing then go to find Aaron. He was making BLT's for us for lunch. "Hey, you are already cooking?" I ask him. "Are these okay for lunch? I can make you something else if you want to" he offers. I shake my head no. "That is perfect. I am famished" I say. I glance over at the nearest clock. It was already noon. We would be heading out on the waters soon. "Want to eat in here or on the top deck?" he asks me. "How about up on the top deck? It is such a lovely day" I say. He nods. I help him gather up the food. He grabs a bag of chips. And I grab some sparkling waters from the fridge. We head up to the top. Being careful not to spill anything as we go. We set the food down first. Then we sit down. We begin to pour chips on our plates with the BLT's. He smiles at me as we begin eating. I loved his cooking. He could make anything boring seem like the best thing in the world to eat. I wished I could cook half as good as Aaron could. Back in high school he had taken home etch class because I had. And I burned anything I cooked. He tried his best to help me pass. But I got a D in that class. • ❤︎ •• ❤︎ • "What are you thinking about?" he wonders out loud. I giggle. "Home ech. How you were better at cooking than me" I giggle. He grins. "Sorry nothing I could do about that. Mother had seven sisters. And they always came to our place on the holidays, so we were cooking so much food all the time. I was always in the kitchen helping. She taught me a lot" he laughs. "Mmm your mother could cook. I loved her pies" I giggle. He grins. "I know you did. Remember when I brought you a birthday cake? After your sweet sixteen?" he asks me. I nod. "I do. Your mom made me one" I tell him. "She had my favorite strawberry cake with the perfect cream vanilla frosting. I loved that cake" I gush. "I have a little confession. I baked that cake for you. She did not. I did not want you to know I could cook" he laughs. I giggle and nearly spit out my sparkling water. "Oh, Aaron that was the best cake I ever had! Now you are going to have to bake our wedding cake, seeing as I know this" I giggle. He grins. "Sure, anything for you" he promises me. I blush. "Oh Aaron" I sigh. He smiles and I smile back at him. "How long will it take to get home by boat?" I wonder. "Three days tops. Not as fast as a plane" he explains to me. I nod. "I see but it will be a fun adventure. Melody will be there in town around Sunday. We should be there by Sunday then to. Seeing as we are leaving now on Friday" I mention thoughtfully. "Melody is bringing her husband. She has some big news to tell us. But she wants to say something important in person not on the phone" "I wonder what that news might be?" he mentions. "She told me the same thing" "That is why I can't wait to get there on Sunday and find out what her news is!" I declare. "Think she is getting a divorce?" he wonders. I shake my head. "No way he is coming with her. Why would she bring him if they were getting divorced?" I ask. "Maybe they are moving back to Haven Creek" he shrugs' thoughtfully. "Maybe she is having a baby" I say as my eyes grow wide. "I bet that is it!" "Want to make it a bet?" he jokes. "Baby or new house?" I grin as I pop another chip in my mouth. "Winner has to bake the wedding cake" I tease. "I dunno you burn cakes. What if you lose?" he jokes. "Me? I never lose" I giggle. "Wanna bet Vance?" he challenges me. He extends his hand out to shake on the deal. I shake his hand. "Deal Winters! Loser has to bake our wedding cake" I laugh. "And I am not counting on losing" "Well me either" he teases. He leans in kissing me. "I can always teach you how to bake" he whispers after the kiss. I shake my head then laugh. "Do not count your chickens before they hatch Winters" I joke. • ❤︎ •• ❤︎ • He raises his eyebrow at me. Then laughs. Someone comes on the deck with us. "Hello I am Steven Jones. I will be the captain. Are you ready to take off Mr. Winters?" he asks Aaron. He shakes hands with both of us. "Are you ready Brenda?" Aaron asks me. I nod. "So, you are the Brenda, The Brenda is named after? Both are stunning creatures" the captain sweetly says causing me to blush with pleasure. "I so agree" Aaron laughs. He smiles at me. "I am ready to take off. I can't wait for Sunday. I am hoping to find the perfect little baker for our wedding cake" I tell the captain. Aaron laughs at that. I knew I was going to win. Why worry? If I did end up having to bake the cake, I would go buy one when no one was looking. After all no one liked a burnt wedding cake. That would be bad luck and it just would not taste good. • ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •
