The next few days passed relevantly quickly, as Candice began to job hunt again in secret and Laurie made lots of friends, spending more time with them and Damon's parents. Dee and Candice had been informed with a small message that what they had decided had been carried out. They had each thrown the paper in the bin and refused to talk about it, the guilt they were feeling weighing heavily on their hearts.
Candice and Laurie continued their self defence lessons each week, Candice determined not to be helpless ever again. Damon was nowhere to be found, apparently on pack business. She was a little hurt that he hadn't talked to her properly or even bothered to say goodbye. Logan spent a lot of time with Johnathon and although he still made time to see them, it wasn't the same.
