Catherine’s smile was frozen in place. Calm, I must be calm, she told herself.
“There must be some mistake,” she told Mitch. “Maybe he got waylaid by a fan or misunderstood the meeting place.”
“We found the shower on and empty. We searched the place,” Mitch said quietly. “If you have any idea where he is, now more than ever is the time to tell me.”
“No, no I don’t,” she said, and Mitch could tell from the concern in her voice that she was telling the truth. “Mr. Abramson, Mitch, you’ve got to find him. Let me know the minute you do. In the meantime, I’ll work my end and see what I can come up with.”
