Chapter 1

1412 Words
I’ve always loved going to visit my family in Westmount Pack. Especially my cousin Jeremy. He’s more like a brother to me than a cousin. But what I like the most about him, is that he doesn’t treat me like a fragile little girl made out of porcelain that could break apart at any little thing. Therefore, he lets me hang out with him and his friends. His really hot friends. They are all a few years older than me, but I don’t care, and neither do they. Goddess knows they are all panty-dropping gorgeous. But one, more than the other, has always caught my attention. Blake Peterson. The blond, blue mixed with grey-eyed hotty. I still remember very clearly the first time I met him. I was only thirteen at the time. Our family was having a reunion. I didn’t even want to go. That would have been best after everything that happened. But the past can’t be changed, Unfortunately… ☙❧ “MOM, Please! I really don’t want to go! I want to stay home.” I say, stomping my foot on the floor again. “You could ask the Luna to watch me while you're away. I’m sure she wouldn't mind.” I pleaded with my mother for the millionth time since she told me we were leaving the day after tomorrow for Westmount Pack.  For two weeks! “Oh, sweetheart, I already told you no. We have a family reunion and you are not missing it. Just think about all the fun you're going to have with your cousins and new friends you’re going to make.” She says, picking up the cloth from the counter to dry the dishes she just washed. With a huff, I stomp my foot again on the floor and leave the kitchen angrily. Stepping out the front door, I shut it a lot louder than I normally would. With another deep frustrated sigh, I sit on the top of the steps, crossing my arms across my chest, suling deeply. “Are you ok, Lana?” I hear a small voice say. Looking up, I see my friend Kaitheline coming towards me on the walkway. “NO, I’m not!” I exclaim. “What’s wrong?” She asks, coming up the steps and sitting down next to me. “I’m trying to get my parents to let me sleepover at the Alpha’s house for the next two weeks, but they keep saying no. I don’t want to go to a stupid family reunion!” I say with a huge pout. “You’re still trying to get Lucas’ attention?” She asks. “Duh! He’s the only one that could be my mate! He’s just so perfect. I want to spend some time with him. He’s so nice and so kind. Too bad he’s got bad taste in friends though. She is the most annoying she-wolf around!” I say with a little disgust. “Are you talking about Amy?” She asks with a frown. “Yes!” I say furiously. “She’s always trying to keep him from talking or playing with me. But what makes me the angriest, is that he listens to her, and always leaves when she says to go. I hate her!” I say, stomping my foot on the steps. “Maybe if you talk to the Luna yourself, your mom won’t have a choice but to say yes for you to stay here.” She says, brightening up my mood. She’s so right! I never thought about it that way! I’m so going to try this! Then I’ll definitely be able to spend some alone time with Lucas.   ☙❧ “Come on sweetheart. Can you put on a smile on that pretty little face of yours, please?” My mother tries to coax. “I don’t want to!” I say, pouting and crossing my arms across my chest. We set out for Westmount Pack a little over an hour ago and are about to arrive at our destination. Parking our car in front of the Packhouse, we all get out and make our way to the front door. “Welcome, Oliver, Evelyne. And who might this beauty be?” The man, I assume, is the alpha asks, giving me a million-dollar smile with his pearly white teeth. Looking at him shyly and a bit intimidated, I answer softly. “I’m Lana.” I might be mad at my parents for forcing me to come here, but I still have my manners when it comes to meeting and greeting an Alpha. I need to show him some respect. “Lana. That’s a beautiful name for a very pretty young she-wolf. Welcome to Westmount Pack. I hope you will enjoy your family vacation. I know your cousins are extremely excited to have you coming over for two weeks.” He says with a chuckle. “They’ve been talking about it all week!” He says, placing his index and middle finger to his temple and massaging it. “Thanks,” I mumble out, blushing a little. “Thank you, Alpha Brenton. We are excited about this reunion. It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen each other. We appreciate you welcoming us in your pack.” My father says with the utmost respect, bowing his head along with my mother. Him being Alpha Joseph’s 3rd in commence does make a difference too, I guess. AS soon as we’re about to step through the front door, it bursts open and a herd of kids comes rushing out. “LANA!!!” My cousin, Jeremy, screams out, engulfing me into a tight hug. He’s almost choking me with the strength he’s holding me with. “I haven’t seen you in forever! I missed you.” He says shyly in the crook of my neck, not letting go of his embrace. “I missed you too, Jerr.” I answer back, hugging him just as tightly. Jeremy is 17 years old. And even though he’s five years older than me, we’ve always gotten along great.  Either I’m more mature for my age, or he’s not for his! “My friends are so excited to finally meet you. I’ve talked so much about you since I found out you were coming over for an entire two weeks! We’re going to have so much fun. I have lots of things planned for us to do!” He says with so much excitement, rambling on for another twenty minutes before our parents call us in for dinner. “After we’re done eating, would it be ok for us to go play with my friends, ante Evelyne?” Jeremey asks my mother in such a sickly sweet tone. Make me want to upchuck. He’s such a kiss ass sometimes, but I have to admit, his method usually works. “I supposed that would be alright. But make sure you get back before 10 O’clock. And take good care of her, understood?” My mother says with a fake stern look.  She had no bite to her bark. That is one of the reasons I can get away with pretty much anything I do. “I will make sure she’s safe, and I promise we’ll be back on time.” He says with a huge grin on his face. “We’re going to have so much fun!” He whispers excitedly, leaning closer for only me to hear. “I’m sure we will,” I reply, digging into my piece of apple pie, It’s one of my favorite desserts. I wonder what type of guys his friends are? Will they be nice to me? Take me for a kid? Or one of the guys? Maybe a fragile little she-wolf? Shaking off my train of thought, I turn my attention back to my delicious dessert.
